North Boulevard Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
North Boulevard is a Midland, Texas neighborhood. Fairview Cemetery and Midland County Park form the boundaries on its southeast side. North A Street is another boundary, with a short leg going past West Scharbauer Drive. Following West Scharbauer drive east to North Pecos Street, and then to the southeast again from there, forms the final boundaries.
The North Boulevard area is primarily populated with residential blocks. The interior roads here are comprised mainly of single family homes, while apartment buildings and a few businesses dot the areas along Scharbauer Drive and other exterior roads. The population of this neighborhood is just over 400 people. The crime rate here is far lower than is average for the state of Texas.
The neighboring cemetery here, Fairview Cemetery, is the oldest cemetery in Midland. Designated as a Historic Texas Cemetery by the Texas Historical Commission, its oldest grave dates back to 1885. A wealth of history is told here, beginning with several veterans of the Mexican Civil War and of the American Civil War, who have this as their final resting place. Legend has it that bank robbers once buried their spoils under the caretaker’s house in this cemetery, though the story has never been substantiated.
Midland County Park conjoins with this cemetery. This isn’t necessarily a park in the traditional sense of one that has playgrounds and the like, but is more so an open area that could be perceived as a part of the cemetery. The entirety of the cemetery and the park is fenced along the roadways.
The ZIP code in North Boulevard is 79705.
