(hide neighborhood information)

On the northeast side of Midland, Texas, the neighborhood of Mira Vista is surrounded by a variety of amenities. Golf courses can be found on the north and south sides of the neighborhood, and over a half-dozen parks are just a short distance away. Within one mile, residents can watch sporting events at two stadiums. Midland College and Midland Airpark are located within three miles to the southwest.

Midland Country Club is less than a half-mile north of Mira Vista, and hosts a course that is among the oldest in the region. Hogan Park is a half-mile south and features two 18-hole Bermuda grass courses. The Roadrunner course measures 7,000 yards and has bent grass greens, and the Quail course measures 6,600 yards and was constructed in 1959. For more courses, golfers can travel a short distance south to Ranchland Hills Country Club, or across town to the west to play at Nueva Vista Golf Club.

Midland College is within three miles of Mira Vista. The college was established in 1972, has a 224-acre campus, and has won 20 national championships in sports since it was founded. Midland Airpark is located on the eastern border of Midland College. The airpark, which began operations in 1943,  houses 90 planes.

Between Mira Vista and Hogan Park, residents can watch college and high school baseball games at Christensen Stadium. The stadium opened in 1952, and seats 5,000 spectators. Until 2002, Christensen Stadium was the home field of a minor league baseball team, the Midland Rockhounds, but the team moved when a new ballpark was built on the west side of Midland. In the same area is the Audrey Gill Sports Complex, which plays host to Midland High School softball games.
