Francis is the original neighborhood in a group of primarily residential communities on the west side of Midland, Texas. Francis II, III, and IV can be found in the surrounding area, as can the Ashwood Estates and Lone Oak neighborhoods. This small community is bounded by Humble Avenue on the north, Shell Avenue on the south, and Godfrey Street on the west. Part of Midland County, Francis is in the 79707 zip code area.

The north side of this residential community currently consists of nine single-family homes. The south side of the community is host to eight townhomes/duplexes.

Situated just north of Andrews Highway, this conveniently located community offers easy access to a variety of amenities. The nearby highway hosts several popular eateries and shopping options, as well as the Midland Memorial Hospital West, one of just a few major medical centers in the city. For more shopping and entertainment, the Midland Park Mall is located approximately two miles to the north, along State Highway 250. This popular indoor shopping complex is the largest in the city, anchored by a Sears, Beall’s, JCPenney, Dillard’s, and Ross.

Sports fans and families have several options for recreation and entertainment within a few miles west of the Francis community. For golf, there is the Nueva Vista Golf Club off of West Wadley Avenue. C.J. Kelly Park can be found adjacent to the golf park, offering a variety of playing fields and playground equipment. A putt-putt family fun center and bowling alley are also situated in this area. For those who prefer spectator sports, the First American Bank Ballpark, home of the Midland Rockhounds pro baseball team, exists a few minutes west of this community as well.
