A few miles west of this community, on the other side of Highway 250, are several additional opportunities for outdoor recreation. CJ Kelly Park offers athletic fields and trails, as well as plenty of open space for picnics and games. Just south of the park is the Nueva Vista Golf Club, a semi-private golf club with a challenging 18-hole course and the only notable golfing option on this side of the city.

Sports fans living in Francis II may also frequent the First American Bank Ballpark, located a few miles southwest, along Highway 158/250. This rather new stadium is the home of the city’s professional baseball team – the Midland Rockhounds.
