Public transportation is available for Cowden. The Midland-Odessa Urban Transit EZ-Rider buses have six routes and run daily Monday through Friday and limited hours on Saturday. Buses do not run on Sunday.

Commuting to work and school is convenient from Cowden, which is centrally located within Midland. There are several schools and colleges within a short distance from the community. Midland Memorial Hospital is two miles from the community.
