Ashlin Place is a very small community, consisting of just nine single-family homes sites. The homes here are rather large and the lots are spacious and well-shaded. Several feature their own swimming pools. Among the neighboring communities are Windsor Place, Driver Place, and Arrowhead Acres.

Residents of Ashlin Place enjoy close proximity to a variety of area amenities. The largest option for outdoor recreation in the immediate area is situated about a half-mile north, along West Wadley Avenue. Here, Tumbleweed Park and Windlands Park are situated on adjacent lots. Roughly two miles northeast of the community is Hogan Park, one of the city’s most prominent outdoor attractions. This large park offers a variety of playing fields, as well as an off-leash dog park. However, it may be best known for its 36 hole public golf course. The affluent residents of Ashlin Place who prefer a private golf club experience may belong to the adjacent Ranchland Hills Country Club or the Midland Country Club, which is situated a few miles further north.

Additional attractions within a few minutes north of Ashlin Place include the Midland Airpark and Midland Park Mall. The latter is one of the city’s largest indoor shopping centers, offering over 90 specialty stores, five major department stores, and several dining options.
