Guide to

Laredo

Laredo, TX Apartments for Rent

Jalapeno contests and beautiful colors, great shopping and a fantastic history – these all blend together to create the fascinating city of Laredo, Texas. The development of Laredo from a small Spanish settlement to a bustling metropolitan city is evident in its urban landscape. Laredo was founded as a Spanish colony in 1755 and has existed under seven flags – one of which was for an independent nation that broke away from Mexico in 1840. The Republic of the Rio Grande only lasted 283 days and was never officially recognized, but Laredo served as the capital of the republic until it was reclaimed by Mexico. Today, the flag designed for this ill-fated little country is used by Laredo as their city flag.

Here in Laredo, the people are going to make sure that you live loud and proud. The food is great and the mixes of the flavors are phenomenal.  Laredo is also a college town, home to Texas A&M International University and Laredo Community College.
