Hugging the C-shaped coastline along the Galveston Bay, Kemah is an idyllic beach town, where swimming, beachcombing, sunbathing, fishing, and boating are common activities. Once you rent a Kemah apartment, pack up your swimming gear, put on your flip-flops and your sunglasses, and start enjoying the palm trees and balmy breezes of your new coastal Texas home.
The Kemah Boardwalk attracts visitors from all over with its amusement rides, fantastic seaside restaurants, great shops, and special events such as festivals and shows. Day or night, the Kemah Boardwalk is always a great destination. The Kemah Boardwalk Marina is a facility with deepwater berths, floating docks, and over 400 boat slips.
Kemah is only about a half hour drive from downtown Houston, making this a great beachside location for commuters. Kemah residents enjoy a slightly slower pace and a Gulf shore breeze that’s missing from the nearby big city. Once they shake the sand out of their shoes, residents may head over to the Kemah Farmers and Open Air Market, an open-air market offering everything from local organic produce to homemade lemonade to leather works to arts and crafts.
