Tomorrow’s Hope lies in zip code 37209. This small neighborhood is adjacent to R H Boyd-Preston Park, and the park lies between this community and the Tennessee State University Campus. The boundaries of the area are Dr. Walter S. Davis Boulevard to the north, 39th Avenue North and R H Boyd-Preston Park to the east, 44th Avenue North and the railroad tracks to the west, and Clifton Avenue to the south.

The neighborhood is made up of a large number of apartment buildings and complexes, but there are a few single family homes that are scattered throughout the neighborhood. Some of the larger newer apartment complexes have little to no grassy areas or trees, but the majority of the buildings are surrounded by a small amount of green space and some trees. The eastern most edge of the neighborhood north of the park is a dense area of trees.

The park is a peaceful location without much in the way of amenities, but for residents of the neighborhood who lack personal outside space, the park can fulfill that need. It is also a place where people can go for a quiet walk or walk their dogs.

Tennessee State University has a long and interesting history. It is now a comprehensive, urban, land-grant, coeducational university. It was originally founded in 1912. There are two campuses in Nashville: the main campus, which occupies 500 acres, and is minutes away from Tomorrow’s Hope, and the Avon Williams Campus which is located in downtown Nashville.

The university currently has five colleges, three schools and an Institute of Government. Included are the College of Arts and Science, College of Business, College of Education, College of Engineering, Technology and Computer Science, College of Health Sciences, School of Agriculture and Consumer Sciences, School of Nursing, and School of Graduate Studies and Research.
