First the mansion. The grounds alone are gorgeous and extensive. At the end of a very long drive sits the stately Two Rivers Mansion. On the National Register of Historic Places, this antebellum home was built in 1859 and is still considered one of the best early Italianate homes in the region. It is a fine place for a wedding or other special event.

Two Rivers Golf Course, a Metro Park, makes up the entire west half of Sunny Acres, almost to the banks of the Cumberland River. Greenway trail runs along the east, passing by Two Rivers Lake on its way to the footbridge over the river and on to Shelby Bottoms Trail. It is just one segment of a massive trail system linking top natural, historic, and recreational sites in greater Nashville.

If, however, one goes north rather than crossing the river, it is less than a mile to a vast retail and entertainment district: The Grand Ole Opry and Opry Mills. The Riverboat docks here.

Two Rivers Park and Wave Country offers lots of short walking trails and a water park. Across the river is Shelby Bottoms, an 810-acre park with 12 miles of trails.

In the middle of the neighborhood is Volunteer State Community College, a satellite campus for the large community college 30 miles away.
