The Napier Area neighborhood sits in the 35210 zip code area of Nashville, Tennessee. It is located southeast of downtown. Its borders are Interstate 24 on the north, Charles E. Davis Boulevard on the west, railroad tracks on the east, and Cannon Street to the south. The yards in this area are small, so homes sit close together. Soaring mature trees cover the wide sidewalks of this very walkable residential neighborhood. Public transportation is available on almost every street.

This historic area dates back to the 1800s, so it is not uncommon to find homes in this neighborhood that date back to the turn of the 20th century. Mixed in with these historic buildings are homes from the 1950s and 60s. Homes styles are generally ranch and bungalow.

J.C. Napier Park, at less than five acres, is considered a “mini park.” The park is associated with the Napier Elementary School, and offers an open space with small trees and an indoor swimming pool.

Napier Enhanced Option School was named for Alonzo Napier, the brother of J.C. Napier. This community based school, which teaches children from kindergarten to fourth grade, offers 32 regular classrooms and a recently renovated playground area.

There is local shopping in the neighborhood, including a grocery store. Chain grocery stores require a little drive, but a Harris Teeter and a Kroger’s are also close by. When the residents want to spend an interesting hour or two, the Lane Motor Museum is located just a short drive away on Murfreesboro Pike.
