Green Hills Neighborhood

The Green Hills neighborhood of Nashville is located south of downtown. It is probably best known for the location of the Mall at Green Hills, a high-end shopping center. It is located between Hillsboro Road and Granny White Pike, very close to the I-440 Loop, making an easy transition into downtown Nashville and Music Row.

The eastern side of the Green Hills Neighborhood is divided into hilly lots of older homes. Architecture styles throughout the neighborhood range from ranch to custom styles. Most of the older sections are single-family homes on large lots. There are new subdivisions comprised of contemporary upscale homes. In addition, there are condominiums and townhouses.

Green Hills Library is just off of Hillsboro Pike. There is a large business district around the Mall at Green Hills, which includes Trader Joes, Fox’s Donut Den, Whole Foods Market, the Bluebird Café, Great Harvest Bread Company, and many more businesses. Regal Green Hills 16 supplies residents and visitors with a choice of 16 different movie theater screens.

Within the neighborhood are many choices of religious institutions, including the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Nashville, Glendale United Methodist, First United Church-UCC, Woodmont Baptist, Gracepointe Church, and many more. Schools within, or servicing, the area of Green Hills include Green Julia Elementary, Moor Middle School, Montessori Children’s House, Harpeth Hall School, Ensworth School, and Hillsboro Comprehensive High School.
