Glengarry Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
The Glengarry neighborhood in Nashville is an established community primarily comprised of ranch-style homes that were built during the 60s. Homes are located on large lots with mature vegetation and trees that look park-like and are well-maintained. Yards feature such trees as pin oaks, catalpas, sourwoods, witch-hazels, maples and magnolias, all serving as habitats for area birds, such as flycatchers, yellow warblers, sparrows and cardinals.
In the summer, the yards are tinted with the blooms of asters, chrysanthemums, cosmos, dahlias, foxgloves, and geraniums. Locals also plant impatiens and pansies in shade gardens and grow sunflowers to add a colorful touch to the backs of yards and patios. The array of blooms invite hummingbirds and butterflies to the area as well as the honeybee, which is also the state insect.
Located just to the east of I-24, the neighborhood is close to nearby stores and dining establishments. It lies south of Thomason Lane, west of Murfreesboro Pike and north of Briley Parkway.
Many of the locals like to spend time during their leisure hours at the Seven Oaks Disc Golf Course, which is located at the intersection of School Lane and McGavock Pike. The course, which is southeast of Glengarry, is an interesting and scenic place for anyone who wishes to hone their skills playing Frisbee golf.
Residents also like to visit the various malls that are in easy reach via the interstate. One of the more popular shopping venues is the CoolSprings Galleria, which is located at 1800 Galleria Boulevard, and is home to over 160 retailers, including Dillard’s, Macy’s, J.C. Penney, the Belk Home Store and Sears.
Featuring amenities and conveniences that make Nashville a welcome place to live and work, the Glengarry neighborhood ranks high on the list of affordable family-friendly places in which to live.
