The Leevy Cemetery founded in 1932 by Mr. and Mrs. I. S. Leevy will be of interest to history bugs. Prior to 1932, the couple opened the Leevy Department Store and in 1930, opened the first black-owned Esso Gas Station in South Carolina. The facility and chapel has continued to be managed by family members since its opening in 1932 and currently owned by I. S. Leevy Johnson, grandson of the original founders.
