Westside in Charleston, South Carolina, is a unique downtown neighborhood. Westside is bounded by Highway 17 on the south and east, north on Presidents Road to Line Street, west on Line Street to Hagood Avenue, north on Hagood Avenue to Congress Street, east on Congress Street to Highway 17.
Homes in the Westside Neighborhood are from many different eras, some built as late as the 1960s, and there is some construction going on now. Rehabilitation of older homes has been underway for years and a lot of the old charm of Charleston can be seen in the results. Charleston is on the Atlantic Ocean and is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the country. Folly Beach is a bike ride away from Westside, with a long stretch of undeveloped beach for swimming and relaxing. The Isle of Palms Country Park has beaches with life guards and a family-oriented park right on the beach. Sullivan’s Island has a family friendly beach and neighborhoods to explore, with dining, shopping, and South Carolina history.
