Glenview has been attracting new residents since it was incorporated in 1899. With its ideal location about 16 miles north of downtown Chicago, roughly four miles from the shores of Lake Michigan, and only about 10 miles northeast of O’Hare International Airport, Glenview is a village in the heart of the Chicago area. And getting around is easy, with the nearby Edens Expressway and two commuter train lines to choose from.
But the Village of Glenview is more than just convenient. This beautiful area is home to four golf clubs, terrific shopping destinations, 34 parks covering over 290 acres, and popular restaurants. Attractions in Glenview include the Kohl Children’s Museum of Greater Chicago, the Grove National Historical Landmark, Oil Lamp Theater, and Wagner Farm – a historic dairy farm and one of the last working dairy farms in Cook County. Visitors can take a hayride, milk a cow, and tour the restored farmhouse. The Glenview Farmers Market is held every Saturday seasonally, directly across from the Wagner Farmhouse.
When considering Chicago apartments for rent, be sure to check out Glenview, a terrific suburban community that has plenty to offer – including a strong job market of its own. Several major corporations have offices or facilities located in Glenview, including Kraft Foods, Avon, and Tool Works.
