Glendale, Arizona is a busy city located about nine miles northwest of Phoenix. Glendale is Arizona’s antique capital. It is also the location of the Arrowhead Towne Center Mall and the University of Phoenix Stadium, the home of the NFL Arizona Cardinals and the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl.
With professional football games, plenty of shopping, great restaurants, and plenty of art galleries, theaters, and museums to explore, you’ll love your new Glendale apartment. For those who prefer outdoor adventures, Glendale’s desert landscape is ideal. The city has about 40 miles of hiking trails, including Thunderbird Park, a series of trails that equals about 20 miles. Biking enthusiasts can tackle the bike paths at Grand Canal Linear Park, Thunderbird Paseo Park, and Sahuaro Ranch Park.
When you want to cool off, Wet ‘n’ Wild Phoenix is located on Pinnacle Peak Road in Glendale. It features 30 attractions, including the Dueling H2O Coasters, Maximum Velocity and the Constrictor. Or, head over to the Wildlife World Zoo and Aquarium in nearby Litchfield Park. This park contains Arizona’s largest collection of exotic animals, in addition to the African Safari train ride, a skyride, an Australian boat ride, and more.
If you happen to be moving to Glendale with a pet, be sure to check out the area dog parks. Foothills Park is a bright, cheerful dog park with a shade area, water, benches, grass, and an agility course. Northern Horizon Park features a large fenced-in play area with a separate play area for small dogs, water fountains, benches, and shade trees. It is Glendale’s largest dog park. Sahuaro Ranch Park features an off-leash dog area with some agility equipment and water fountains.
