Cranberry Township, PA Apartments for Rent

At the north end of Pittsburgh, just above the intersection of I-79 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike, you’ll find the charming town of Cranberry. With a population that has nearly doubled in the past 10 years – up to roughly 30,000 residents – Cranberry’s excellent location makes it a terrific choice for your Pittsburgh area apartment.

As one of the nation’s fastest-growing areas, Cranberry (named for the cranberry bogs that used to dominate the area) is a hub for retail and business. It is home to Cranberry Mall and Cranberry Square for shopping, and Thorn Hill Industrial Park, home to several tech-oriented and engineering-based industries. Downtown Pittsburgh, which is home to Duquesne University, the University of Pittsburgh, and Carnegie Mellon University, is just 20 miles south of Cranberry.

The cheerful town of Cranberry is family-friendly with a strong school system and terrific parks. The parks system includes a waterpark, a skate park, and a dog park. The state’s best municipal golf course is also located in Cranberry – Cranberry Highlands. Graham Park features the Dick’s Sporting Goods Sportsplex, which includes 13 ball fields, a hockey rink, a bike repair station, picnic areas, fitness stations, and a paved bicycle/walking trail.

Founded in 1804, it is believed that George Washington traveled through Cranberry Township before the French and Indian War. After selecting your apartment in Cranberry, be sure to check out the historic sites scattered throughout the area, including the restored one-room schoolhouse, the 1874 Sample School, located near the Municipal Center. The school is open for tours during the summer months.
