American history permeates Bensalem, Pennsylvania, a township that was founded in 1692. Located 20 minutes northeast of Philadelphia and 15 minutes south of New Jersey near the Delaware River, Bensalem is the largest municipality in Bucks County.

In addition to Bensalem’s 30 local parks, state and historic parks are also minutes away. Neshaminy State Park, 339 acres along the Delaware River, is home to a 300-year-old village called Fallsington. This historic Quaker community is open for guided tours in three of the buildings.

Washington Crossing Historic Park, the site where George Washington and the Continental Army crossed the Delaware River in 1776, is 20 minutes north of Bensalem. It includes a 19th-century village called Taylorsville.

In 1992, Bensalem began a festival to celebrate its 300th birthday. This annual Fall Festival includes live entertainment, animal shows, arts and crafts, and fireworks.

Philadelphia Park Racetrack and Casino, opened in 1974, features a one-mile thoroughbred horse racing track on 417 acres.

With its central location, historic sites, and town festivities, Bensalem attracts many new residents seeking rental apartments.
