The 19,199-seat BOK Center is close to Forest Creek. The Central Hockey League’s Tulsa Oilers make their home at the center. Performances at the state-of-the-art center range from Sesame Street shows to the music of Ozzy Osbourne.

Residents are close to the Arkansas River for exercise and quality time in an outdoor setting. With a backdrop of spectacular scenery, visitors follow the river’s current as it moves downstream from Tulsa. The Tulsa Wave stretch of the Arkansas River is a popular destination for kayaking and whitewater rafting. Hotel lodging and campgrounds are available along the river.

Built in 1924, Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa is known as the Carnegie Hall of Western Swing. It was home of Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys, who were responsible for western swing, a form of country and western music combined with types of music such as jazz, hillbilly, boogie, and big band swing. Western swing later became rock and roll. The original maple dance floor still exists at Cain’s Ballroom, and concerts featuring today’s musical artists are held there. Concerts in the ballroom throughout the years have influenced performers from all types of music, including Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard.
