Wildewood is a beautiful neighborhood found in the northeastern section of Oklahoma City. This is an upper middle class neighborhood filled with single family homes in a wide variety of styles. Just north of Northeast 50th Street and south of Highway 66, this neighborhood is filled with quiet, tree-lined streets and surrounded by interesting places to see and visit.
For those who like to spent time outside, or have either children or pets, there are a lot of choices in this area. Northeast Lake is a short drive away, as is Remington Park, Spring Lake Park and Lincoln Park. Also in this area is the Oklahoma Zoological Park, where kids and adults can spend the day watching animals. A bit closer and within walking distance is Perry Park. This is smaller than some of the other parks, but is still a great place to take the kids.
For those looking for educational opportunities, Wildewood is also a great neighborhood, with schools such as the Martin Luther King Elementary School. There are also a number of adult education facilities, such as the Metro Technology Center and the Metro Area Vocational College. There are a number of museums, including the 45th Infantry Division Museum, the National Softball Hall of Fame and the Science Museum of Oklahoma.
In the heart of one of the most interesting parts of Oklahoma City, this neighborhood has something for everyone, without having to get onto the freeway. Yet the short, no-through streets ensure that Wildewood remains a quite community, which is almost perfect for a family.
