Lake Stanley Draper has a thirty-four mile shoreline and four covered fishing piers. The lake provides even more adventurous entertainment through dirt biking and jet skiing. Woodson Park is a municipal park where South Oklahoma City residents can play baseball and disc golf. They can swim or walk, run, and ride a bike on the park’s trail. The park has playgrounds for the children, a gymnasium and picnic shelters.

Downtown Oklahoma City provides South Oklahoma City residents with many historical presentations. The Banjo Museum presents the rich history and future of the banjo. It has the largest collection on display in the world. Residents can tour the State Capitol Building and learn how government operates at the state level first hand. The Governor’s Mansion can also be toured.

Another popular attraction is the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. The exhibits in the museum tell the story of the Old West. Many great westerners, such as “Buffalo Bill” and Willa Cather are honored in The Hall of Great Westerners. The museum re-created a town from the early 1900s with a blacksmith’s shop, a school, homes and a railroad depot.

When hungry for a bite to eat, downtown patrons enjoy Bricktown, a popular dining and entertainment district. Bricktown is filled with specialty shops and restaurants. Life in Oklahoma City is very enlightening and fulfilling.
