Many of the back yards of the homes in Silver Lake face water. Wiley Post Airport is south of Silver Lake and is one of three airports operated by the Oklahoma City Department of airports. It is an airport for business, corporate and general aviation air travelers. Will Rogers World Airport is farther south of Silver Lake.

Southeast of Silver Lake is State Fair Park, which is one of the largest state fair parks in the nation. Auto racing, horse shows, rodeos, concerts, conventions and much more can be experienced at State Fair Park. Downtown Oklahoma has many museums, exhibit halls and other expressions of the rich history of Oklahoma.
