Lakeaire is a neighborhood that is easy to get to, while at the same time, it is close to many recreational opportunities. North MacArthur Boulevard is less than a quarter mile away from this community. Roughly the same distance away is Lakeshore Estates Park, which is on the shores of Lake Hefner. This man-made lake was built in the late 40s, and it has become the focal point of a lot of recreational activity. Lake Hefner is well known for sail boating, and sailboat races are held here every year. The park gives a great vantage point from which to view the races.
There are also a large number of paved trails near the lake, making it ideal for joggers or simply for a pleasant walk. In addition, the lake is a good place for people to fish. There is a heated and enclosed fishing dock and other access points for fishing. The lake is a premier fishing lake.
Lake Hefner covers about 2500 acres, has a maximum depth of nearly 100 feet, and furnishes fresh drinking water for some of Oklahoma City. There are also many smaller lakes near this neighborhood, which gives the community yet more chances for outdoor fun.
Lakeaire is about a mile from Lake Hefner Golf Course, for golfing enthusiasts. This course features two regulation 18-hole courses, and there are numerous mature trees and sand traps to increase the challenge. Lake Hefner Golf Course has been lauded in Golf Digest as the fourth best public course in the state. The neighborhood is also located just over a mile from Cherokee Hills Park, which contains interesting cultural features.
Lakeaire has many nice houses, most of them with large, mature trees, bushes, and shrubs.
