Sailing and sailboarding is permitted on the lake.
Those who prefer dry land activities have plenty to choose from at Lake Hefner. Onshore is Lake Trails, a 9-mile-long, multi-purpose roadway that surrounds the lake. Kids love the Stars & Stripes Park, which is also located on the shores of Lake Hefner. Built with a patriotic theme that includes a red, white, and blue color scheme, and star-studded emblems and plaques, the park features fun slides, tunnels, and climbers, as well as a softball field.
