The Harvest Hills neighborhood is located in northwest Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, about 15 miles from the downtown area. This community encompasses the 73162 zip code area and is bounded by Northeast 108th Street on the north, the Northwest Expressway/Highway 3 on the south and North Council Road on the east. Its western boundary is less conspicuous, but runs parallel to Prairie Lane on the north then expands to include Long Meadow Road on the south. Harvest Hills is part of Oklahoma County.
The midsection of this community is entirely residential, devoted to single-family homes on well-landscaped lots. The southeast portion of the community is home to townhome and apartment communities and the far southern portion of the neighborhood hosts a car dealership and the Council Crossings Shopping Center. The far northern portion of the community features a church and the Harvest Hills Elementary School.
Harvest Hills Park can also be found within neighborhood bounds on the north, along Harvest Hills Road and Northwest 104th Street and adjacent to the elementary school. This community park features a walking path and playground equipment, as well as open space for games or picnics.
Clearly, residents of this community enjoy many amenities within neighborhood bounds, but many more opportunities for recreation, shopping and entertainment can be found within a short drive of home as well. A few miles to the east is Lake Hefner, one of the most popular outdoor attractions in the city. This large lake spans 2,500 surface acres and is surrounded by several popular parks and a golf course. Hefner Trails, a system of scenic biking and jogging trails, surround the lake, which is popular for boating and fishing. The surrounding parks offer playing fields, picnic pavilions, and playgrounds, among other amenities.
