Surrounding the lake is the Lake Hefner Trails, an asphalt multi-purpose trail used by joggers, hikers, and bicyclists. The trail area also includes picnic areas, playgrounds, and ball fields. And for those who enjoy golfing, the Lake Hefner Golf Club is located on the southern shores of the lake. There are two, 18-hole courses at this municipal facility, which opened in 1994.
