Big Cedar is an upper middle class neighborhood found in the northwest corner of Oklahoma City. Filled with large ranch-style homes, this neighborhood is new enough that most of the trees are still small, but great care has been taken to make this a beautiful and safe neighborhood with short streets that keeps traffic both slow and at a minimum yet is close to major roads so that reaching the city takes only a few minutes.

Since it is on the outskirts of Oklahoma City, this neighborhood has a lot of open areas around it but few actual parks in walking distance. The best of these, Harvest Hill Park, is a great place for kids to play or walk the dog. This park borders the Harvest Hills Elementary School. There are a few more parks in easy driving distance as well as Eagle Lake and Oknoname 14 reservoir, which can be reached in minutes, and just a bit farther is Lake Hefner which has several great parks.

There are a number of churches near this neighborhood including Harvest Hills Baptist Church, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Church of the Holy Cross, and New Hope Church. These all help to create the small-town community feel that makes Big Cedar a great place for families to live.

Everything needed for day-to-day living can be found only minutes from Big Cedar at the Council Crossing Shopping Center. Traveling into the city takes only minutes, but Big Cedar still feels more like a small community than a large city.
