Findlay, OH Apartments for Rent

Centered along the Blanchard River in northern Ohio, Findlay is a charming, mid-sized city roughly 70 miles south of Toledo. Findlay’s large, historical downtown area is a major draw for residents and visitors, who enjoy the area’s shops, restaurants, pubs, museums, theaters, and events. The river divides the city in half, running through the heart of downtown.

As the seat of Hancock County, government buildings are located downtown, as well. The Hancock County Fairgrounds in the southeastern part of the city hosts many area events, including the Old Millstream Farmers Market. This market takes place through the summer and features locally-grown produce, plants, and homemade products. The Hancock County Fair was established in 1852. It is a major area event with competitions, games, food vendors, agricultural events, and rides. Other events include the Flag City BalloonFest, which includes balloon rides, a 5K walk/run, games, helicopter rides, a classic car show, and more.

After you’ve discovered your ideal Findlay apartment to rent, be sure to take a ride along the Old Millstream Scenic Byway. There are several points of interest along this route, including several in Findlay, such as the Wooden Covered Bridge, the 1930s-era Riverside Train, and the Little Red Schoolhouse. The schoolhouse is a one-room school built in 1882 that served all of the farm families in the area.

Findlay is home to the University of Findlay, a private university founded in 1882 by the Churches of God, General Conference. The school has a well-respected equestrian program and more than 60 other fields of study. The largest collection of children’s book illustrations in the nation is housed at the Mazza Museum of International Art from Picture Books, located on campus.
