West Campus Neighborhood

West Campus is west of Downtown Columbus in the zip code 43221. As the name implies, it is near the west campus of Ohio State University.

The west campus is separated by the rest of the OSU campus by the Olentangy River and the Olentangy Freeway/route 315. The city of Upper Arlington borders the north and west side of the neighborhood and Grandview Heights borders it to the south.

Single family homes here were built in the 1940s in a subdivision called University View. Prices range between $129,000 and $190,000 for varied styles, including wooden Cape Cods. It’s a well-maintained neighborhood with green grassy lawns and mature trees. Sidewalks parallel the streets making it a great place to walk and ride bikes.

Amenities of living in this neighborhood are huge. Nearby is the Lennox Town Center movie theater complex and the Jesse Owens and Fred Beekman parks. The Chadwick Arboretum & Learning Gardens and the Schottenstein Center, home of the OSU men and women’s basketball and concerts, is on the other side of the Olentangy River Freeway. Activities on the main campus include football games in the Ohio Stadium. The Riverside Methodist Hospital is north of the neighborhood. The Ohio State University Golf Course is northwest of West Campus.

Numerous shopping areas are nearby including the Kingsdale Shopping Center north of West Campus.

Homes in West Campus are located in the Grandview Heights City School District. The nearest schools are Robert Louis Stevenson Elementary School, Thomas A Edison Intermediate School and Grandview Heights High School.
