The Columbus of Hilltop is located on the western side of the city and is otherwise known as the Greater Hilltop Area. Three neighborhoods make up the Hilltop community: Highland West, Wilshire Heights, and Westgate. The area received its name because it is situated on a rise that slopes down into the Scioto River. The boundaries of Hilltop are I-70 on the north, B&O Railway to the east and south, and the I-270 Loop on the south and west. The main thoroughfares in the area are Mound Avenue, Hague Avenue, and West Broad Street.

This diverse community of residents and homes dates back to the early 1900s and offers a little something for everyone. Varying architectural styles partnered with tree-lined streets and close-knit community values make up what the Hilltop community is today, a place that many are proud to call home.

Though the area is close to downtown, the community of Hilltop has made sure to retain plenty of green space for residents and visitors to enjoy. More than 10 parks are located in the vicinity. Some of the largest are Rhodes Park, Big Run Park, and Westgate Park. Big Run Park offers unique amenities such as a disc golf course and a Soap Box Derby hill, as well as plenty of the usual park amenities like basketball courts, nature trails, gardens, and playgrounds.

Shopping in the community is also plentiful, with most of the retail stores, shopping centers, local businesses, and dining clustered along West Broad Street. This makes it convenient for residents to shop, dine, go to the dentist, and pick up groceries all in one stop.
