Scott Arboretum is a 357-acre arboretum located on the campus. The arboretum, which is free and open to the public, was established in 1929. It contains over 4,000 types of ornamental plants, the 200-acre Crum Woods complete with walking trails, and the Dean Bond rose Garden. Due to the beauty of the arboretum, Swarthmore is considered one of the most beautiful college campuses in the country.

A train station located on the edge of campus makes the 11-mile trip to Philadelphia quick and easy for those who want to live in the city.
