University of New Hampshire - Durham, NH

Settled in 1635, the beautiful and historic city of Durham is located on Great Bay in New Hampshire. A quintessential New England town, life revolves around the water – kayaking along Oyster River and Great Bay, sailing, swimming, and fishing. The nearby White Mountains provide skiing in the winter and hiking and camping in the summer. From colonial settlements to museums to great shops and fine dining, Durham delivers. But your Durham apartment has another bonus – it places you near the University of New Hampshire.

UNH was founded in 1866 and is New Hampshire’s flagship university. It is a land-, sea-, and space-grant university that is well-respected and competitive. The university features seven colleges with over 100 majors. The colleges include Liberal Arts, Engineering and Physical Sciences, Life Sciences and Agriculture, the University of New Hampshire School of Law.

The UNH Wildcats compete in NCAA Division I as part of the America East Conference for most sports, including basketball, soccer, and cross country. The football team is part of the Colonial Athletic Association. The school colors are blue and white. The UNH Wildcat Marching Band is nicknamed the “Beast of the East” and plays at home games as well as in parades.
