Founded in 1907 as a Baptist college, the University of Redlands is now an independent private liberal arts university. The University of Redlands is a top-ranking, selective institution that enrolls about 4,500 students. The College of Arts and Sciences offers 42 undergraduate programs and three graduate programs. The University of Redlands is located in the city of Redlands, which is located on the southeast side of San Bernardino, roughly 18 miles northeast of Riverside and 60 miles east of Los Angeles. Redlands is a beautiful city that contains several historic locations, including the San Bernardino de Sena Estancia and the 1877 Barton School House, the oldest building in Redlands.
