The Olde Vineyard subdivision is located in Forsyth County in Winston-Salem, in the 27103 postal area. Olde Vineyard is bordered by Interstate 40 Business Loop, also called Highway 421, on the west. Interstate 40 itself borders the neighborhood on the south. South Stratford Road, also called Highway 158, forms the neighborhood’s eastern boundary and Silas Creek Parkway the northeast.
The Olde Vineyard neighborhood has a variety of housing types and price ranges. The neighborhood was constructed at different times starting in the 1950s. Newer lots have few mature trees and sidewalks thread through much of the neighborhood.
Olde Vineyard residents can easily reach Forsyth Medical Center and Amos Cottage Hospital. Hanes Mall Shopping Center is just a short drive on Silas Creek Parkway. Hanes Mall features hundreds of stores and hosts special events. Forsyth Technical Institute is another neighborhood landmark.
Neighborhood parks include Miller Park, which features a gym with basketball, volleyball, fitness classes and table tennis. It also hosts a variety of club meetings and events. Bolton Park is part of the Winston-Salem greenway system and features walking paths and picnic areas.
The prestigious Forsyth Country Club is just a short distance from Olde Vineyard. The club features a golf course, swim center, tennis facilities and a grand ballroom. The club sponsors many junior programs. Forsyth Country Club has hosted many professional and amateur sporting events.
The Moore Magnet Elementary School serves the Olde Vineyard neighborhood. The school bases its program on Dr. Howard Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligences, or “smarts.” Students sport an 8-Smarts shirt once a week and wear uniforms twice a week. The school has high community approval rating.
