The North Valley neighborhoods in Raleigh are situated in the southwestern section of a triangle formed by Creedmore Road on the east and Lynn Road on the south. Ray Road and Howard Road make up the western and northern boundaries of the community. Homes in the area range in price from the upper $170,000 bracket to $500,000. The rent on a three-bedroom condominium begins in the low $800s, and a one-bedroom unit rents for anywhere from $500 to $700 a month. Much of the surrounding area can be reached using mass transit services, although residents need a car to reach the farthest areas.
The area surrounding North Valley is great for shoppers, with the Crabtree Valley Mall along with several other shopping centers located less than five miles from the residences. For the creatively inclined resident, a visit to the North Raleigh Arts & Creative Theatre might be quite enjoyable. This theater operates as a non-profit performing arts center, with a focus on the community. For those who prefer to learn while enjoying the fresh air outdoors, a 4.5 mile-trip to the Prairie Ridge Ecostation provides the opportunity to view a wide variety of plant and animal exhibits, including a number of dinosaurs. This is also the home of Willo, one of the only dinosaur skeletons found in which the animal’s heart has been preserved along with the external remains.
