High Meadows Apartments for Rent

The High Meadows subdivision in North Raleigh is located along Louisburg Road/U. S. Highway 401 and Mitchell Mill Road. Since the community is approximately 10 miles north of downtown, High Meadows residents experience an easy commute to the city center as well as the Northern Wake Expressway/Interstate 540. Centrally located north of the I-540 outer loop, North Carolina State University is less than 12 miles away. The Raleigh-Durham International Airport is slightly more than 15 miles from the neighborhood.

This established neighborhood is close to a number of public recreational areas with activities for adults and children. Nearby Durant Nature Park is a 237-acre passive recreation area with open space, a playground, sand volleyball, two lakes, and about five miles of hiking trails. Both lakes allow fishing and canoeing with park-provided boats. The Buffaloe Road Athletic Park is an active sports venue with multiple baseball/softball fields, a football field, a track, and a trail system and is situated less than than 10 minutes from the High Meadows neighborhood.

Major grocery retailers Lowes Foods of Raleigh and Food Lion each have stores within five miles of High Meadows, off Louisville Road. However both grocers are also accessible from interior roads, limiting the amount of highway travel necessary.

One of the largest shopping malls within the Raleigh city limits is the Triangle Town Center mall, which is approximately 10 miles from the High Meadows community. It is a two-story facility with the region’s only Saks Fifth Avenue. The mall also has a Macy’s; Dillards; and more than 175 other stores, boutiques, and specialty retailers. Additional spaces on the perimeter are occupied by a variety of stores, eateries, movie theaters, and coffee shops gathered in an area called Triangle Town Commons.
