The neighborhood of Berkshire Village is one of several nestled in Wakefield Plantation in North Raleigh. Berkshire Village is located is the southwestern area of Wakefield Plantation. Coming from either direction on Falls of Neuse Road, residents turn into Wakefield Plantation on Wakefield Pines Drive. Turning right on New Falls of Neuse Road, residents then turn right to enter the subdivision of Berkshire Village. Berkshire Village consists mostly of single-family homes. Rolling hills and manicured landscaping add to the southern plantation architecture found there.
Students living at Wakefield Plantation attend schools located on the property including Wakefield Elementary, Wakefield Middle, and Wakefield High School. A new elementary school is in development. Berkshire Village backs up to the school grounds, and all three of the schools are within walking distance for its residents.
