The neighborhood of Berkshire Downs West is located in Raleigh, North Carolina. It is located within Wake County. Berkshire Downs West is bordered on the east by Perry Creek Road. Capital Boulevard lies just west of the neighborhood and the neighborhood of Berkshire Downs makes up the south boundary. The neighborhood is residential and made up of single family homes. The area incorporates Wynfield Drive, McGuire Drive, and Liston Drive.

Located just northwest of Berkshire Downs West is the Durant Nature Park. The park consists of 237 acres of heavily forested land. The park features 5 miles of trails, some specifically for hiking and walking and some specifically for mountain biking. There are lodges, campsites, and several shelters. Within the park is two lakes, Upper Lake and Lower Lake. Swimming is allowed, as is fishing. There are scenic overlooks, a boathouse, a fern garden and wildflower garden.

Gresham’s Lake is south of the neighborhood and is a popular place for local fishermen. Common fish caught include yellow bass, sucker fish, and whitefish.

The Triangle Town Center is nearby and features stores like Saks 5th Avenue, Dillard’s, Lenscrafters, Trade Secret, Sears, Barnes and Noble, and Helzburg Diamonds. There is a Best Buy, Kmart, Target, and Starbucks in the vicinity as well. Dining options are numerous and restaurants are plentiful. There is a Twisted Fork, California Pizza Kitchen, a Chick-fil-A and Shane’s Rib Shack, just to name a few.

Schools in the area include North Raleigh Christian Academy, Fox Road Elementary School, River Bend Elementary School, Willburn Elementary School, East Millbrook Middle School and Millbrook High School.
