Mostly populated by green trees, Greensboro is part of the thriving suburban area situated among the gently rolling hills of the state’s Piedmont Triad region. The Orchard lies on the seat of Guilford County and it uses the zip codes 27214 and 27455. It spans an area of 0.487 square miles. The neighborhood borders include Church Street on the west, Holly Ridge Road and Shady Pines Drive on the east, Old Lake Jeanette Road and Arcaro Drive on the south, and Summerwalk Road and Thornberry Drive on the north. Its other main thoroughfares include North Elm Street, Lees Chapel Road, Yancyville Road, Hillcroft Road, and Pisgah Church Road.

Most students residing in The Orchard attend the Northern Elementary School, Northern Middle School, and Northern High School.

The neighborhood hosts the Orchard Pool and Mary Kay Cosmetics within its vicinity. Lake Jeanette is located a few minutes away from its western side, while the larger Lake Townsend is also easily accessible on its north side via Yancyville Road. The Bryan Park Golf Course is located right beside Lake Townsend.

Going further southwest along Pisgah Church Road provides residents easy access to a number of commercial establishments including specialty shops like Indigo Bead Studio, Kids R Kids, Autozone, The UPS Store and Brugger’s Bagel Bakery. There is a large concentration of grocery stores and dining spots in the area like the Harris Teeter Supermarket, Walgreens, Arby’s and Starbucks. Residents are also near Lake Jeanette Urgent Care and Gate City Animal Hospital.

Traveling further south of North Church Street also leads to the Buffalo Lake and the smaller Philadelphia Lake.
