The Spicewood neighborhood of Greensboro is located northwest of the city and is bordered by North Greenbriar Road to the north, South Berryman Street to the south, Baylor Street to the east, and North Church Street to the west. The neighborhood covers .250 square miles.
Spicewood is a middle-class neighborhood of mostly young families living in owner-occupied homes. The property values here are much lower than the Greensboro-Highpoint area, and houses and condominiums in the neighborhood offer a mix of housing opportunities.

Opportunities for fishing and golfing are close to the Spicewood neighborhood. Anglers will enjoy fishing spots less than seven miles from the neighborhood. Richland Creek is a stream with a population of bass and channel catfish. The White Oak Lake has blue catfish, gar and sunfish. Lake Jeanette Dam has trout and sturgeon.
Three Greensboro municipal reservoirs, Lake Townsend, Lake Brandt and Lake Higgins occupy over 2,600 acres. Nature enthusiasts and hikers observe various species of birds and enjoy tracking their seasonal migrations.
The Grandover Resort has two 18-hole golf courses that are part of the numerous scenic golf courses located near Spicewood. Designed by David Graham and Gary Panks in the late 1990s, the golf courses are open to the public.
