Located in zip code 27455, Old Towne is situated north of downtown Greensboro. The nearest interstate highways, I-40 and I-840, are located just south of the downtown area. Nearby thoroughfares include US 220 to the west and US 29 to the east.

The shape of Old Towne is circular with angles. Boundaries include imaginary lines along the backyards of Bluff Ridge Court on the west, Bluff Run Drive and Wheel Wright Court on the south, Lake Laurel Court on the east and a backyard line near the south shore of Lake Jeanette on the north.

Lake Jeanette was built to provide water for Cone Mills, a textile manufacturing company later renamed International Textile Group. Residential communities surround the lake. Many of the amenities are intended just for the communities, but there are 10,476 feet of walking trails as well as sidewalks within the lake’s subdivisions. Old Towne is not a part of this community but is “next door.”

All of the streets in the Old Towne subdivision end in cul-de-sacs except for Bluff Run Drive, which connects to Lake Jeanette Road. Green space, most of which is wooded, separates the backyards of each street. Needless to say, the Old Towne and Lake Jeanette neighborhoods are perfect places to walk and ride bikes.

Nearby parks include Guilford Courthouse National Military Park and Greensboro County Park. Schools are Jesse Wharton Elementary, Mendenhall Middle, and Page High School. Shopping areas include the Lawndale North Shopping Center which is just a few minutes southwest. Merchants include Fresh Market grocery, Talbots, Walgreens, and Villa Italian Pizzeria.

It’s just a few minutes’ drive to the Piedmont Triad International Airport to the southwest, the Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital to the south, and the University of North Carolina-Greensboro, also to the south.
