It is located about four miles west of downtown and five miles east of the Piedmont Triad International Airport. Hamilton Lakes features two lakes: Lake Hamilton and Lake Euphemia. The lakes are secluded natural areas with walking trails. Wildlife is plentiful and includes birds, ducks, fish, and turtles. Hamilton Lakes features a Swim/Tennis Club with three pools, several tennis courts, and a clubhouse. The Starmount Forest Country Club lies on the southeast side of the neighborhood. This private golf club was built in the 1930s and features tennis courts, a pool, and a clubhouse in addition to its popular golf course.
