Sandwiched between the Joseph M. Bryan Boulevard and Battleground Avenue (U.S. Route 220) is the Greensboro, North Carolina neighborhood of Garden Homes. Greensboro, a historic city of more than 200,000 residents, neighbors Winston-Salem in the county of Guilford.

The Garden Homes neighborhood of Greensboro extends from Gracewood Drive eastward to Stratford Drive with North Holden Avenue at its southern border. It is south of Greensboro Country Park in the 27408 zip code. The neighborhood’s residential lots are wooded with mature trees and homes ranging in value averaging from $100,000 to $175,000. Garden Homes is not a cookie-cutter subdivision. The homes vary in style from split-levels to bungalows to brick ranch houses.

Garden Homes is less than a mile from shopping and dining, including the Caldwell Shopping Center at the corner of David Caldwell Drive and Battleground Avenue. The Tanger Family Bicentennial Garden was established in 1976 to celebrate the country’s 200th birthday. It blooms with native flora and features several sculptures, brick paths and even a wedding gazebo. The Bog Garden is the site of wetland flora and wildlife, including a variety of birds. It has more than a mile of elevated boardwalk trails.

Garden Homes is less than five miles north of downtown Greensboro, as well as the state colleges of the University of North Carolina-Greensboro Campus and the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.
