Nevin Community is a neighborhood in Charlotte, North Carolina. It is bordered by Sunset Road on the north, Statesville Road to the west, Gibbon Road to the east and Nevin Road to the south. The neighborhood surrounds Nevin Park. The Nevin Community is located conveniently east of the I77 and just north of downtown Charlotte.

The Nevin Community is a housing development. There are many smaller houses built quite close to each other, similar in size and style. The yards have few trees and are simply landscaped. There are no sidewalks in the neighborhood.

Sunset Hills Public Golf Course is located close to the neighborhood, and unlike many elite clubs, is very affordable and friendly to beginners. There are two separate courses, a nine hole learning course and an 18 hole course called the “old course.” They both offers a fun and interesting round of golf at a very good price. They offer a summer junior camp to teach youngsters how to play golf.

Nevin Park covers 340 acres of greenery in the center of this neighborhood. The park offers baseball and soccer fields, horseshoe pits, bocce courts, shuffle board, picnic shelters, playgrounds and a trail to walk, jog or bike. In the summer the sprayground is a popular attraction for kids and adults alike.

Mountain Island Lake is a manmade lake that was created in 1924. It is the primary drinking source for the city of Charlotte. The water area is over three acres and there are 61 miles of coastline. This lake offers a variety of water sports including sailing, kayaking, water skiing, fishing and jet skiing. It is a popular local vacation destination.
