College Downs Neighborhood

College Downs is a neighborhood located directly across from the University of North Carolina in Charlotte, North Carolina. The location of this neighborhood is most suitable for college students who want to live off campus. It provides off-campus students with a place to live that is close enough that driving or walking is a possibility.

One of the best parts about living in College Downs is that there is plenty of shopping just down the street. Places like OfficeMax and Target scatter both sides of University City Boulevard. The Commons at Chancellor Park is a big shopping center featuring many different shops right down the street from the neighborhood. Another popular place in the immediate area to shop is University Place, which is just on the other side of the campus.

The dining in the area is very abundant, as University Place and the Commons at Chancellor Park both are host to many different places to eat at such as Panera Bread, T.G.I. Fridays, and Panda Express.

The areas surrounding College Downs are filled with numerous places to go for a fun time. The Charlotte Motor Speedway is quite close to College Downs and offers visitors the ability to see various races and car shows scheduled throughout the year. The Verizon Wireless Amphitheater is also close by and hosts various concerts and shows throughout the year.

One of the biggest attractions in the Carolinas is Carowinds and it is only a little bit of a drive away from College Downs. Carowinds entertains visitors with an array of roller coasters, thrill rides, and games. There is also a separate area of the park for water rides and water activities. The park is also host to various shows and events throughout the year.
