Mountainbrook Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains to the east downtown Asheville is the neighborhood of Moutainbrook. This heavily-wooded, hilly North Carolina neighborhood features narrow, gently-winding roads. Home styles in Mountainbrook vary, but many are medium-sized ranch homes hidden among the trees.
The southwest portion of the neighborhood has newer homes that sit a little closer to the street, but are deliberately built in the older style with large front porches. Some of these homes are side-by-side two-family homes, while some are built as two-family upper/lower old-fashioned colonials. Surrounding views of the densely-wooded Blue Ridge Mountains add to the country charm and flavor of Mountainbrook. Interstate 240 sits just to the south.
Public schools here belong to the Asheville City School District. Public, charter, and Catholic schools all serve the area.
Eateries in the area have won numerous accolades, including “Best Breakfasts in North Carolina” by Southern Living magazine.
The largest home in America is the 250-room Biltmore, located on George Vanderbilt’s 8,000 acre estate. The Biltmore House also has a restaurant and shops. The Inn on Biltmore Estate and the Cottage on Biltmore Estate are both available to lodgers.
Numerous hiking trails fill the Asheville area. While some are urban, some are in the Blue Ridge Mountains, while others are in the nearby Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Elevations vary, and trail ratings vary from easy to difficult.
