The Central Business District is located in downtown Buffalo. In its southwestern section, Lake Erie can be seen, and a portion of Interstate 190 runs along its waterfront.

Groceries and shopping needs can be met within the neighborhood. A highly rated, one-stop shop is Holley Farms on Pearl Street. CVS Pharmacy on Main Street and Walgreen’s Pharmacy on Delaware Avenue are also handy because they are open 24 hours a day. There is also a Walmart on Thruway Plaza Drive, which is a 15-minute drive from Central Business District.

Nearby schools include Waterfront Elementary School on Fourth Street, Emerson School of Hospitality on Chippewa Street, and Middle Early College High School on Main Street. Rainbow K, a preschool, provides childcare at its two locations on Franklin Street.

There are at least 13 parks located in Central Business District and its nearby neighborhoods. There are also bookstores and libraries in the neighborhood, as well as five bars. The Shea’s Performing Arts Center on Main Street offers Broadway musicals and other events. Six major banks have locations in the neighborhood, and coffee shops like Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts are a few steps away from the center of the neighborhood.

The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority provides public transportation with a single-line subway called Metro Rail. The portion that runs along the Central Business District is above ground and currently fare-free. Its bus network covers the whole neighborhood with 39 bus routes.
