Trenton Apartments for Rent
When Quakers arrived in 1679 and settled the area now known as Trenton, New Jersey, they began the history of a city that would come to include George Washington’s first military victory during the Revolutionary War, a brief stint as the US Capital, establishment as the state capital, and a diverse economy with strong roots in manufacturing. Trenton has grown and evolved, and is today one of the busiest sections of the Greater New York City area.
Historical architecture defines Trenton, and one of the must-see locations is the Old Barracks, the last remaining Colonial barracks in the country. This structure dates to 1758 and was used for soldiers during the French and Indian War. The Trent house, built in 1719, is the oldest house in New Jersey and was built by William Trent, the town founder. Today it is a historic house museum and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
The neighborhoods in Trenton are as diverse as the people who populate this city. Each distinctive area adds flavor to the area and includes the South, West, East, and North Wards.
