In historic downtown Bordentown, you’ll find hitching posts and wrought iron, brick walkways and gingerbread. Like stepping back in time, this quaint area has mostly preserved, unaltered architecture that dates back as far as the late 1600s. Located in New Jersey 28 miles northeast of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Bordentown’s unique history began in 1682 when Quakers settled here.
Situated on the Delaware River, Bordentown is near Delaware Raritan Canal State Park. This historic park is sure to inspire with its cobblestone spillways and 19th century bridge tender houses. This 70-mile park is also popular for canoeing, jogging, hiking, fishing, and horseback riding.
There are several businesses in the area, including the largest Ocean Spray Cranberries facility, which began manufacturing here in 1943.
